I was born and raised in Canada where I studied Health Sciences and Psychology before departing to The Netherlands on what was supposed to be a 6-month long trip. I fell in love with the country and the various communities that exist within it. In my time in the Netherlands I have expanded my educational horizons, studying global health at the VU, and completing my MSc in Clinical Psychology at Leiden University.
Over the years I have worked with a wide variety of mental health concerns including but not limited to; addictions counselling, chronic illness and terminal diagnosis, dual diagnosis, and traditional and non-traditional relationship counselling.
…I aim to provide:
. . . a non-judgmental, sex positive, inclusive therapeutic environment aimed at helping individuals navigate and manage difficult aspects of their life regardless of their sexuality, gender, and relationship configuration.
I am an all-round psychologist who utilizes a client-centered approach when working with individuals, adolescents, partners, and families.
Psychology is not all I do; in my free time, I enjoy spending time in nature, doing yoga, reading, and gardening – not to mention traveling. I love going to new places, with no plans, and experiencing the culture, society and landscape with as few preconceived notions as possible.
In my youth, I was very active in the art scene, something I am just now getting back in touch with. Activism is also an important part of my life and I am actively involved in many causes both internationally and in The Netherlands.
